On February 28, the 2024 Battery Japan Spring Exhibition was held at the Tokyo Big Sight International Exhibition Center. As Asia's largest professional secondary battery exhibition, this event gathered automotive, battery, material manufacturing, and equipment manufacturing enterprises from the global new energy industry, attracting a total of 69,261 visitors.
In this overseas expansion, Rolechem primarily exhibited its LiFSI, LiBOB, and LiODFB additive products alongside customized services, highlighting the comprehensive advantages of these main additives in enhancing electrolyte performance. Meanwhile, Rolechem deepened its discussions with industry clients regarding new energy fields and new material directions. The R&D and industrialization processes for technologies such as large cylindrical batteries, solid-state batteries, and 4C fast charging are accelerating. It is estimated that by 2030, the global demand scale for lithium batteries will reach 4 Terawatt-hours (TWh), making global electrification unstoppable. The South Korean government released the "2030 Secondary Battery Industry Development Strategy" and the "Rechargeable Battery Industry Innovation Strategy," clarifying the development goal that "South Korea will occupy a 40% share of the global battery industry market by 2030." The Japanese government proposed in its "Storage Battery Industry Strategy" that "domestic production capacity will reach 150 Gigawatt-hours (GWh) by 2030, and the global capacity of Japanese enterprises will reach 600 GWh." Concurrently, Japan is investing fully in the R&D of all-solid-state battery technology, aiming to achieve industrialization capabilities by 2030 to realize a "corner-overtaking" in battery technology. The European Union set a target that "by 2030, the EU's localized battery manufacturing capacity will reach 550 GWh," comprehensively building a local clean energy and battery supply chain system. The U.S. Department of Energy released the "National Blueprint for Lithium Batteries (2021–2030)," proposing five major development goals, while providing strong subsidies for the battery industry through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), with over $120 billion currently invested in the power battery industry sector.
